Home Buyers’ Plea

UPDATE – Home Buyers Plea “Help Us Close”

Thanks to the hard work of many, these Buyers have finally have a new Closing Date!

Let us begin with our story.

In the Spring of this year we began looking for our first home. We walked into the property knowing that we finally found where we wanted to start our lives together and put in an offer right away. On March 25, 2011 we received the news that Fannie Mae, the owner of the home, accepted our offer and were absolutely thrilled. With our closing date of April 28, 2011 right around the corner we were quick to secure our financing and even began packing our things for the big day. Unfortunately, Fannie Mae was unable to clear the title and therefore needed to delay. Although disappointed, we both understood that buying a foreclosure could sometimes be a process, and knew that waiting for our dream home would certainly be worth it.

Four other closing dates and several months later, we sit here writing to you for your help!

The property has been a vacant property for several years. Once a beautiful home near the center of our town, the fences are falling down, walls are beginning to crack, and mold damage is unfortunately becoming an issue. We hoped to spend the summer bringing this home back to the beautiful house it once was, yet Fannie Mae continues to be unable to finalize the foreclosure process or work with us in making our dream of home ownership a reality.

What we, and other residents of our state, do not understand is why, when an ACTIVE and EAGER buyer is knocking on the doors of home ownership, Fannie Mae, a federal agency, has chosen to fail us. We want so desperately to move into our home that we wanted to reach out to your offices. We are confident and hopeful you will be able to help us. Thank you very much for your time and assistance.

RE/MAX On the River is now ready to revolutionize the traditional real estate agency presence in Newburyport with our café-style office opening this June at 11 Market Square, Newburyport. We will offer a Buyer/Seller resource center, refreshments, computer stations and a place for the community & non-profits to hold meetings after hours. This office will offer private client rooms, a conference/training room and an internet cafe.  Streamlined work spaces will be available for our agents.  Large screen TVs and monitors in prominent locations will display real estate listings, CNN and real estate based educational programs. This innovative office is another way for us to lead the industry in trends, technology, tools and skills. We strive to give every agent all of the support needed for professional growth with a culture of positive energy, fun and passion for real estate.  This new design will help us offer professional, efficient service on a more friendly level and allow our talented and professional agents to create an exceptional customer experience.
